Testing & Maintenance requirements Test after installation prior to service. Maintain in working order and inspect for operational function at intervals not exceeding twelve months. These functions to be carried out by authorised licensed testers.
Pressure & Temperature   Working Pressure: 1400kPa
  Test Pressure: 2000kPa
Maximum Working Temperature: 60ºC (available to 99ºC maximum upon request)

Specific Installation Requirements
Have free ventilation at all times.
Not to be subject to flooding or freezing temperatures.
In the horizontal plane, vent is to point downwards with 300mm minimum clearance from ground to vent.

Typical Outdoor Above Ground Installation
For vertical installation, the direction of flow can be up or down for D20 to DN50. For devices larger than DN50 the direction of flow must be down. A vent elbow to be used also.
Not to be located in a pit.
All devices to be readily accessible.
Drainage from vent port to be readily visible but not a hazard or nuisance.
Line strainers to be fitted immediately upstream (except in fire services).
Approved resilient seated isolation valves to be installed immediately upstream and downstream of device.
Where water supply cannot be interrupted, parallel installations are required so that maintenance is possible.

Specification
The device shall consist of a pressure differential relief valve located in a zone between two positive seating, centre guided, encapsulated spring type check valves. Back-Siphonage protection shall include provision to admit air directly into the reduced pressure zone via a channel separate from the water discharge channel, or directly into the supply pipe via a separate vent. If external sensing lines are utilised, they shall be flexible and constructed so as not to be subjected to crimping, pinching, or collapse.
All units, no matter what nominal size, must be maintainable in line and have field replaceable seats, seals and spring assemblies. All seat/seal assemblies must be secured by stainless steel bolts or screws for ease of maintenance. Sizes DN20 -DN50 will be Gunmetal, DN65 - DN250 will be Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coated Cast Iron.
